IMPHAL, Sept 22: Thousands gathered at the Model Village Ward No. 3 in Tamenglong yesterday to attend the supporters’ get-together of ex-minister Samuel Zendai who will be contesting the coming assembly election from 53-Tamenglong assembly constituency.

The gathering was attended by the chairmen of Seven Segments of Tamenglong.

Chairman of Duigaijang Village, Guidui stated that all villagers of Duigaijang have pledged to support Samuel in the coming election as he is the right candidate who has the vision for progress and development in the backward Tamenglong district.

Speaking to his supporters, ex-minister Samuel Zendai stated that he will try to set up various agro-based industries in Tamenglong district if he is elected by the people of Tamenglong.

The sitting MLA of Tamenglong has been very irresponsible towards the development of the constituency and so the people have long been deprived of many welfare schemes and projects, he asserted.

Samuel also vowed to work for the welfare and development of the people of Tamenglong if he gets elected in the coming assembly election.

More than 12,000 people gathered at the function. Various renowned artistes of the state also performed during the get-together programme.
