Training on adventure tourism held at Ukhrul

    IMPHAL, Sept 28: A four-day adventure tourism awareness training Programme was inaugurated today on at Ifad Guest House at Sirui in Ukhrul district.

    K. Kabid, Superintendant of Police Ukhrul, Dr. L. Surjit Singh-President MMTA and H. Radha Krishna Sharma-Managing Director-Seven Sisters Holiday were the chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.

    All together 30 campers including 10 girls and 8 Officials are participating in the training programme. Three resource persons will deliver lecture on various topics on tourism developments aspects. This training Programme aims to create awareness about potentials of adventure & eco-tourism in the district. The said programme is sponsored by the Regional Director- Indiatourism NE, Guwahati, Ministry of Tourism Govt. of India.

    K. Kabid highlighted the potentials and importance of Tourism, particularly in Sirui and adjoining villages and convey death future of Ukhrul lies in tourism if proper training of human resources and potential of natural resources is given utmost importance.
