IMPHAL, Sept 6: A four day training programme on HIV care for the specialists was inaugurated in the Jubilee hall of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal today by the Director Prof S. Sekharjit. Specialists from the North Eastern states and several departments of RIMS are participating in the programme. During the programme the specialists will be updated in various aspects of dealing with the HIV/AIDS infected persons.
Speaking in the inaugural programme the Director said that there is a high incidence of HIV/AIDS in this region. That is why such training programmes had been organised over 11 times in the past. He hoped that the training progrmme would be fruitful to the specialists coming from other parts of the region.
The training programme is sponosred by NACO. The ART Centre of Excellence of RIMS and MACS are organising it.
