IMPHAL, Sept 4: An outpost of the Highway Protection Force currently occupied by unarmed Village Defense Force (VDF), located at Kalapahar under Kangpokpi police station, has been partially damaged in an arson attack carried out by the agitating public of the Sadar Hills.
However, no human casualty was reported during the arson.
According to police source, the incident occurred around 11:40 pm last night when over 200 protestors forced through the fence of the outpost and set it on fire.
One barrack and a mess hall during the fire, said the source.
The source further informed that around 30 VDF including some officers were occupying the outpost.
