Altogether 1350 Children vaccinated against measles on opening day of MCUP at Moreh

MOREH, October 11: A Measles Catch Up Programme, MCUP was started at Moreh under the leadership of Dr S Priyokumar Singh, district immunization officer, Moreh on October 17.

During the opening day, students of two schools located at Moreh, namely St. George Eng School and Moreh Government Hr Sec School were vaccinated.

Other than the two schools, children were vaccinated at temporary booths opened at the Primary Health Centre Moreh and Moreh Hospital.

Altogether 1350 children were vaccinated at Moreh while another 1173 childrens were vaccinated at tengnoupal during the opening day of the programme.  

An interaction programme which was attended by state monitors, State Immunization Officer Dr. Ibechoubi Devi along with the DIO and staffs nurses was also held during the opening day of the programme at 2pm.

Meanwhile, during the second day of the programme on October 18, students of five schools will be vaccinated.

The programme will also be taken into bordering villages of Molcham, New Samthal and SI Changpol on October 22 if the Myanmar government allows using their roads to reach the villages, stated Dr S. Priyokumar.
