IMPHAL, Oct 27: Atleast three active members of the PREPAK (PRO) were arrested by the Imphal west district commandos yesterday.
A press release of the Sr. Superintendent of Police Imphal west has disclosed that acting on a credible information, Imphal west district commandos arrested one active member of PREPAK (PRO) identified as Khundrakpam Doren Singh alias Tolay, 45, s/o (l) Mani of Sagolband Lukram Leikai along with one Chinese hand grenade.
On further verification, he disclosed that he is presently working under the command of one s/s Imphal east commander Deban alias Khamba, it added.
It has further said that, in a follow-up action another two active member of the PREPAK (PRO) were also arrested on the same day at about 7:10 am from their respective residences, and they are identified as Konjengbam Samarat alias Ibomcha, 44, s/o Manikchand of Khagempalli Huidrom Leikai and Thokchom Raju alias Ibai, 47, s/o Th Yaishkul of Mongsangei school leirak.
It further said that on spot verification, the two disclosed that they are working under the command of Khundrakpa, Doren Singh alias Tolay, 45.
Two M-16 rifles along with ammunition were also seized from their possession, the statement added.
