Cabinet approves compensation for trucks burned down during economic blockade

IMPHAL, October 11: The state cabinet meeting convened today under the chair of Chief Minister Okram Ibobi has approved to give compensation for the trucks which were burned down during the economic blockade along the national highways.

Briefing media persons after the cabinet meeting, SPF spokesperson N Biren stated that the government would give compensation for the trucks burned in blockade-related arson, however, the compensation for the burned down medicine-carriers will be finalized after getting a detailed report on the matter.

The cabinet also approved to grant government jobs to the next of kin of 15 victims of the June 18 incident as per the memorandum submitted to the state government. There would also be age relaxation for the next of kin of the victims while applying for the jobs, stated Biren.

The upgradation of 49 junior schools and recruitment for 294 language teachers including one teacher for Bengali on contract basis under RMSA were also approved by the cabinet today.

The cabinet also approved the prologue of 11th session of 9th Manipur Legislative Assembly.
