IMPHAL, OCT 14: The Freedom Research Foundation, Manipur, today organised a brainstorming panel discussion on “The Future of Manipur” at the Lamyanba Shanglen, Palace Compound.
Eminent panelists, incuding P Sarat, Col. Hemo singh, Prof. RK Ranjan, Associate Prof. Chinglen, Dr. Dhanbir Laishram, Yumnam Rupachandra, L.C. Jinine set the tone for the discussion.
Various other intellectuals and media persons, including veteran politician who had worked with Hijam Irabot, Ningthoujam Benoy, participated in the discussions that followed.
The meeting generally explored the problems and prospects of Manipur, and its relations with the rest of India.
It also deliberated at length on issues like AFSPA, good administration, ethnic relations, the dynamics of identity, the course of historiography, the need for exploring the idea of justice and human rights etc.
