IMPHAL, October 29: A hunter was admitted this evening at RIMS hospital with serious gun injuries after he was fired upon by another hunter mistaking him to be a monkey late last night at Kangpat Khullen jungle under Kamjong police station.
The injured hunter has been identified as Betterson, 22, s/o Gonthion of Kasom Khullen, Ukhrul district.
According to family source, Betterson had left his home yesterday evening to hunt in the nearby jungle. However as he was waiting for his game upon a tree, one of his relative who had also entered the jungle mistook him to be a monkey and fired him with his single barrel rifle injuring him at his face, neck and stomach.
However, he is in stable condition and is recuperating at the hospital.
