IMPHAL, October 25: A newly leveled site inauguration and corner pillar erection service for a Church building construction was held today at the Lamdangmei village, Nungba sub division Tamenglong district.
M Daniel, member Autonomous District Council, 19 Doulang constituency cut the ribbon for the newly corner pillar erection.
Speaking at the function, he stated that none of the previous elected representatives of the area in the last 35 years has ever taken up any developmental programme in the area, however soon after his election to the ADC, he has developed roads, and is trying to bring potable water into the area from the nearby villages and construct a water reservoir in the village.
He assured that he will complete the installation of the water reservoir in the village before the end of his elected tenure. Further elaborating on the developmental issues in the area, he informed that as an elected representative of the area, he is trying his level best to improve the living condition of the people of the area.
He further appealed to the people of the area to incorporate help and support in the construction of the church.
The people of the area have been wishing for a church in the village since the past many generations, and with the grace of god, the people has been able to turn their wish into a reality, he added.
He has further assured that in case of any difficulties arising during the construction of the church, he is ever ready to provide help from his best level.
He has further appealed to the people of nearby areas that even though the neighbouring villages speak different dialects and may have different lifestyles, it is time for the people to live in peace and work towards unity and development.
The ADC member had also donated Rs 50,000 for the construction of the church, while MPCC president Gaikhangam who was absent from the function due to some had also donated a sum of Rs 20,000 and also sent his best wishes to the people of the area.
The function was also attended by Reverend TP Mordecai and Jagamlung former minister and Alar Thoitak ADC member along with villagers of the area.
