MDC teachers hold sit-in-protest, submit memorandum to Governor

IMPHAL, Oct 22: All Manipur District Council Teachers’ Association today staged a sit-in-protest at Thangmeiband Lilashing Khongnangkhong and also submitted a memorandum to the Governor of Manipur demanding immediate release of pending arrears and implementation of pension scheme.

Speaking to mediapersons today during the sit-in-protest, secretary general of All Manipur District Council Teachers’ Association, Letkhosei Haokip stated that the state government has not fulfilled their demands despite of repeated assurance from the Chief Minister.

The employees are demanding 14 percent DA along with 26 months arrears and pension scheme. The association would launch stern agitations if the government fails to fulfill their demands as soon as possible, he averred.

Later, the representatives of the association led by president L Daihrii and secretary general Letkhosei Haokip submitted a memorandum to the Governor requesting for his kind intervention in fulfilling the demands of the district council teachers.
