MPHCL proposes appointment of three AEs to handle extra workload

IMPHAL, October 7: The Manipur Police Housing Corporation limited has propose the creation of three posts of assistant engineers , two in civil and another for electrical, to handle the existing workload of the corporation to the state government.

According to an official source, the MPHC ltd, due to the accumulation of workloads in the various schemes implemented under both the state and central funding, has decided to put the proposal in front of the government.

The source further stated that due to the lack of engineering staffs in the corporation, the workload of the corporation is accumulating.

It further stated that at present the corporation has only four executive engineers, six assistant engineers, 22 JE.

The source has indicated that since the number of AEs in the corporation is quite low and disproportionate to the projects undertaken by the corporation in the state.

A recent meeting of the board of directors of the corporation had approved the creation of the three posts in the corporation including two AEs (civil) and AE (electrical) by way of upgradation of three JEs.

Further according to the source, the meeting further calculated the annual financial implication on the expenditure of pay of the three AEs to be Rs.8,66,052, while that of the three JEs is Rs.8,54,460, with the annual expenditure difference incurred due to the upgradation would be Rs.11,592.

The meeting had further acknowledge that the corporation has enough fund to meet the increase expenditure caused by the creation of the three new post, as the corporation is earning income on an average of Rs.6,29,89,835 during the last three years, the source added.

Meanwhile, according to the source, the state finance department has no objection to the proposal of the corporation before the state cabinet for consideration.

However, the finance department has put conditions that three posts of JE shall be automatically abolished simultaneously when the JEs are promoted to AEs, added the source.

The corporation is waiting for the cabinet decision on the proposal as of now, added the source.
