IMPHAL, Oct 6: The Manipur State Congress Party in a statement issued by its vice president Adim Pamei, clarifies that Phungyar MLA, W. Wungnaoshang Keishing has not been issued with a party ticket to contest the upcoming general election but only given an application to the party president for enrollment.
It mentioned that as per the earlier agreement within the MSCP the issuing of the ticket for the hill constituency is to be done with the concern of the vice president (himself) while the valley ticket by the president, Y. Mangi.
On behalf of the party, it expressed its regret to the opinions of some individuals criticizing the UPA government. It asserted that the development work initiated under the UPA in both Hills and valley is appreciated by MSCP.
