Naga bodies demand investigation on AR personnel killing

IMPHAL, October 29: The Naga Women Union (NWU), Zeliangrong Buadi (Tamenglong zone) ZB (Tml zone), Rongmei Naga Baptist Association (RNBA)  and Naga Peoples Movement for Human Rights (NPMHR) in a joint press statement condemn in the strongest term the killing of TP Ase, 45, of Ward No. XI, Nriangluang Village, Tamenglong whose lifeless body was found floating in the Kangla Moat near M Sector section of the moat on October 27.

It has further claimed tha his belonging including ATM card and cash of Rs. 4,000 were found missing from his possession.
“The state of Manipur has failed in its obligation to protect and give minimum guarantees so that its citizen can enjoy and exercise the right to life”.

The killing which took place in a Imphal high security zone, and a few meters from the residence of the state Governor, and not far away from Manipur Chief Minister office cum residence, shows the state of lawless in the state under the Congress led Secular Progressive Front government, it stated. 

It has further demanded the concern authorities for an impartial investigation of the case and to book the culprit and punish those responsible according to the law of the land within a stipulated time.
The Government of Manipur should take all necessary measures so that all it citizens live in a secure and peaceful environment, it further mentioned.
