Political aspirant alleges CM`s workers disrupted her campaign

IMPHAL, October 10: Oinam Indira, political aspirant and apparent lone contestant of present Chief Minister O Ibobi from Thoubal assembly constituency in the upcoming 10th Assembly elections alleged that her political campaign has been disrupted by workers of the Chief Minister today.

Supplementing her statement, W Inao Jugae, convener of Thoubal Kendra Kanba Lup alleged that the workers of the Chief Minister must have carried out such actions following intimation from the CM himself. “ He must be feeling apprehensive as we are getting stronger in our campaign, we will intimate the Election Commission of India and the Chief Election Commissioner to remove the portfolio of the home department from the CM and to impose PR in the state so that the election for Thoubal a/c can be conducted fairly”, he said.
He further identified the individuals who accosted the party of Oinam Indira during her campaign today as close workers of Okram Ibobi. He identified the persons as sepoys of the IRB and VDF. He named them as Laishram Bimol (IRB), L Jayanta, L Iboton and L Khomei who are VDF recruits, they hail from Thoudam Leishangthem area and by intimidating the campaign party of Oinam Indira, tried to disrupt her campaign today.
