Printers demand materials for timely completion of book printing

IMPHAL, October 6: All Manipur Offset Printers’ Association (AMOPA) has appealed to the authorities concerned to provide the required materials in time so as to complete the task of printing books within the stipulated time.

Addressing media persons at Manipur Press Club, president of AMOPA, M Joykumar stated that the association strongly condemns the decision of the state government to handover the printing consignment to some firms outside the state on the ground the local printers could complete the printing works within a stipulated time.

The reason behind delay in printing the books is the failure of the Board of Secondary Education Manipur to supply the required materials and not the fault of the printers, he stated.

Joykumar further appealed to the Board of Secondary Education Manipur to cancel the tender notice and reinstate the previous norms of printing books.

The association further warned of banning all printing works relating to government if their demands are not fulfilled as soon as possible.
