RK Chandrajitsana widely known as RKCS remembered on 87th birth anniversary

IMPHAL, October 13: The 87th birth anniversary of R.K Chandrajitsana Singh (RKCS) was today observed at the complex of RKCS Art Gallery, Imphal.

The observation was graced by Dr. T Meinya, MP Lok Sabha, RK Gopalsana Singh, chairman, R. MAC and Prof. N. Tombi Singh, president Manipur Sahitya Parishad, Imphal, as the chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.

While delivering his chief guest speech Dr. T. Meinya, termed RK Chandrajitsana as a person with rare quality who had contributed to the society by preserving and reflecting the historic significances of the state in his works.

He also asserted that the people should acknowledge the works of the late artist.

Prof. N. Tombi, who also spoke during the observation, claimed that RK Chandrajit was an artist who revived the dying culture of Manipur through his painting and identified him as a self sacrificial man.

A painting competition was also held today commemorating the late artist. Renowned artist from all over the state also took part in the observation.
