IMPHAL, October 13: The Sadar Hills Districthood Demand Committee in a press release has stated that with the increasing intensity on the inauguration of Sadar Hills Autonomous district issue, the state is adopting different policies to suppress the mass movement, intimidate, and particularly to win over the leadership of SHDDC by false or fair means through different liaison, pressure groups, NGOs and other groups influenced by the state government.

It has further stated that it will be well for the state government not to manoeuvre the genuine demand of its citizens and try to disorient the right tract to peace in the state.

“We shall never bow before injustice and give up our rightful demand under unwarranted and disturbing situations”.

We strongly believe that no popular government will dishonour the rightful and genuine demand of its citizens for more than 40 years. We also hope that long-term injustice manifested in different forms will be tolerated so as to usher lasting peace and harmony in Manipur, it stated.

At the same time, the SHDDC also reiterated its appeal to all the Chinlung community to abstain from celebrating the Kut 2011, taking into consideration the sentiments of the people of Sadar Hills.

It also lauded the Chandel district Kut committee for positively responding to the appeal made by the committee for abstaining the Kut celelbration.
