State government to take grievances to NDC meet at Delhi

IMPHAL, October 3: The state government is preparing an official file to take to the National Development Council meeting at New Delhi regarding the shortages faced by the state in the timely implementation and completion of the various centrally sponsored schemes in the state due to the failure of the central government to release the funds in time, stated a reliable source.

According to a reliable official source, an official intimation from the Planning Commission of India has invited the state Chief Minister to attend the NDC meeting which will be held on October 15 at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi to review the progress of various projects and schemes that have been implemented in the state under the centrally sponsored schemes.
The source has also stated that the state team will be led by the Chief Minister and include chief secretary DS Poonia, state commissioner finance Rakesh Ranjan.
Meanwhile, in preparation of the meeting which will be chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and likely to be attended by all state Chief Ministers of the country, the state planning department has instructed all line department concerned in the implementation of projects under direct funding form the central government to submit their progress report within October 10.
