IMPHAL, Oct 21: Troops under the IGAR (S) arrested at least three militant cadres in separate counter insurgency operation since yesterday, informed a statement issued by the PRO IGAR (S).
In the first incident, troops of 27 AR discovering the movement of UG cadres in general area Maringbal of Thoubal district, launched a search operation in the area and apprehended one UNLF cadre today.
The individual has been identified as (No.1699) SS Pvt, Th Shomendro Singh alias Lusing Lakta, s/o Th Tangthen Singh of Papel Maning Leikai,Kakching. From him a 9 mm Pistol with magazine and one live round was recovered and has been handed over to Kakching Police station, it said.
It further informed that the same Unit launched operation in general area Kakching Khunou and apprehended one PLA (RPF) cadre the same day. He has been identified as one (No.2550) Mayengbam Jamen Jao Meitei alias NC of Kaching Khunou,Thoubal and was handed over to Kakching Police station.
In yet another incident, troops of 18 SIKH of 9 Sector under HQ IGAR (S) launched operation in general area Nambol Bazar and apprehended one PREPAK cadre on October 20.
The militant cadre has been identified as Ramesh, 30 yrs, s/o Indra of Ningthoukhong. He has been handed over to Nambol Police station, further informed the statement.
