Ukhrul remains paralysed during 60 hour hills bandh

    UKHRUL / Oct.24: Ukhrul wore a deserted look following the imposition of 60 hours long total Hills bandh by the United Naga Council’s (UNC) through the initiative of the All Naga Students Association Manipur, (ANSAM) in the Naga inhabited Hill districts viz Senapati, Tamenglong, Chandel and Ukhrul of Manipur demanding the “alternative arrangement”. The strike ended peacefully without any untoward incidents, however, there was no vehicular movement as well as the pedestrians remain off the streets, all shops and other business establishments also remained closed and most of the government offices in the district headquarter remained paralyzed except the offices of fire services, medical, water, security and students which are exempted from the purview of the strike.
