IMPHAL, November 16 (NNN): A bank manager was released by his abductors on health ground after keeping him for five days in captivity apparently for ransom.
The victim, Saikhahao Sitlou, SBI Leimakhong branch manager, was freed by the kidnappers around 9:20 pm November 15 night at Akpao village.
Police said Saikhahao was released by the unknown kidnappers as his health was deteriorating after they kept him for five days. However, his family paid Rs 80,000 to his abductors to free him, according to a reliable source.
Saikhahao, a resident of Saparmeina under Sadar Hills, was reportedly kidnapped by some miscreants on November 10 at about 5 pm at a place between Pheidinga and Sekmai in Imphal west district while he was returning home from his office.
