IMPHAL, Nov 4: 37 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector under HQ IGAR (South) celebrated Kut festival alongwith the villagers at Joupi on Nov 3. A total of 500 villagers alongwith prominent dignitaries from Imphal and Chandel attended the celebrations. Village authority and villagers paid their gratitude to 37 Assam Rifles not only for this Kut festival but for other successful projects also, which brought Joupi closer to the mainstream.
In another occasion, 27 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector under HQ IGAR(S) organized Kut festival at Sugnu. The observation of the festival had thanks giving feast with songs and dance in merriment and joviality for all, in honour of the giver of an abundant harvest.
Villagers from Sugnu and nearby villages participated in the celebration.
A volleyball match on the theme of Kut was organized at the Sugnu post. Prizes were awarded to the children for outstanding achievement in various fields and sweets were distributed to all the participants to mark “the spirit of Kut”. Post commander conveyed his heartiest wishes to everyone on the occasion of Kut and appreciated the immense contribution and sacrifice rendered by all in the development of Manipur.
