IMPHAL, Nov 10: The All Manipur Recognised Private Schools’ Welfare Association has strongly condemned the assault of a student leader by an officer of the Manipur Police.
In a statement the association said that the assault tantamount to dishonoring the student community and urged the authority concerned to prevent similar incidents in the future.
It may recalled that the vice president of the Manipuri Students’ Federation was reportedly assaulted by a police officer on November 5 while the a group of students tried to organized a mass in sit in protest in solidarity to the completion of Irom Sharmila’s 11 years of fasting.
