IMPHAL, Nov 16: The Communist Party of India, Manipur State Council, in a release signed by state secretary Dr M Nara, stated that the proposed supra-state body as a final settlement between the Government of India and NSCN (IM) as published in the newspapers has created a confusion in the mind of the people.

The CPI welcomes solving of a long standing political problem in true sense not affecting the interests of other groups or communities and territorial integrity of the Northeastern states. But there is a doubt in the mind of the general public that this kind of arrangement is non-transparent, dubious and appeasement policy of the central government. The state coincil CPI strongly reacts to such proposal without consulting the three states governments of Manipur, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, the release mentioned.
