IMPHAL, November 1: Security forces have arrested atleast three militant cadres along with arms and ammunitions, from separate counter insurgency operations launched in different parts of the state today.
A statement issued by the PRO IGAR (S) informed that troops of 15 Assam Rifles while conducting operation in the general area of Yairipok Tulihal Thoubal, arrested a cadre of UPRF militant.
The apprehended militant is identified as one Raju Khan, 18, s/o Makat Itombi of Tulihal Idiga Manak.
One Chinese made hand grenade and four live ammunitions of 9 mm pistol were also recovered from him, the statement added.
The statement further said that a combined troop of 15 Assam Rifles and 42 Assam Rifles apprehended a cadre of the proscribed PREPAK during a joint operation launched today in the general area of Samaram of Thoubal district. He has been identified as one Sagolsem Manao, 40, s/o Sagolsem Jageshor of Sagolsem Mayai Leikai.
It has further informed that in yet another incident, a combined team of 23 AR and 18 Sikh apprehended a cadre of the proscribed KCP (City Meitei) today from Salam Mamang Leikai, Imphal west district identified as Surokhaibam Sanayaima Singh, 49, s/o (L) Nitai Singh of Salam Mamang Leikai, Imphal west.
Meanwhile, SSP, Imphal west district in a statement has informed that a combined team of the district police commandos and 31 AR arrested a cadre of the proscribed UNLF early morning today around 6:30 am from Moreh Bazaar.
It has further identified the arrested individual as one Sapam Joy Singh, 34, s/o S. Brajamani Singh of Yurembam Electricity Maning Leikai, it stated.
It said while conducting spot verification he disclosed to have joined the outfit in June 2011 through one Deven. He is working as a recruiter of different outfit organizations, it asserted.
One country made 9 mm pistol loaded with two live ammunitions were seized from his possession, it informed.
