IMPHAL, November 18: “The state government is all set to upgrade the existing government primary schools inside Andro constituency to English medium High schools from the coming new session”, local MLA Th Shyamkumar stated during the inauguration of the Ema Panthoibi Meira Shang at Yambem Mayai Leikai today.
The MLA later inaugurated a Waiting Shed at Yambem Makha Leikai today.
Both the ‘Meira Shang’ and the Waiting Shed’ were constructed from the MLA local area development fund.
The MLA further said that a playground will be handed over to the locals of Yambem Mayai leikai within 20 days and added that the said ground will be acquired from the NREGS’ MLA department line fund and he will also provide if more funds are required.
Elaborating on the upgradation of the primary schools to English medium High Schools, the local MLA assured the people of the area that the schools will have classes from nursery to class X and the government is trying to start the classes from the 2012 January session.
Further speaking at the inauguration of the ‘meira shang’, Shyamkumar further assured the people that the schools will aim to provide quality education to the children of the area.
He also informed that he will try to develop the area so as to bring the various communities residing in the area together.
