IETE observes its foundation day

IMPHAL, October 2: The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) Sub-centre, Imphal today observed it’s 59th foundation day at the conference hall, DOEACC centre, Akampat, Imphal.

The foundation day was attended by director i/c Manipur Police Wireless, W. Dwijamani Singh, chairman, IETE, Imphal N. Debachandra Singh and Scientist “D”, DOEACC Centre Imphal, Y Subhaschandra Singh graced the function as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.

Meanwhile retd reader, DM College of Science, Dr. H. Nandiram Sharma, and retd principal, DM College of Science, G. Tomba Sharma attended the observation as resource person and delivered special lectures on the theme: ‘Environmental technologies: the future of India’.

The institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) is India’s leading recognized professional society devoted to the advancement of Electronics, Telecommunication, Information Technology and other related disciplines. It was founded on November 2, 1953; it serves more than 69,000 members through various centres, whose number is 57, spread all over India and abroad.

The government of India has recognized IETE as a Scientific and industrial Research Organization (SIRO) and has also notified it as an educational institution of national eminence. The objectives of IETE focus on advancing electro-technology. The IETE conducts and sponsors technical meetings, conference, symposia and exhibitions all over India. It is also providing continuing education as well as career advancement opportunities to its members.
