KCP (MTF) cadres involved in attack on minister Loken`s residence arrested

IMPHAL, November 2: Bishnupur police commandos have arrested three cadres of KCP (MTF) involved in the recent bomb attacks at the house of social welfare minister N Loken Singh, from Leimapokpam Awang Leikai under Nambol police station. Two IED bombs (pipe bombs) were also found from the garden of one of the three.

Bishnupur SP Th Radheshyam, during a press conference held concerning the arrest informed media persons that the district police have intensified its operation and surveillance since the arrival of the Union home minister P Chidambaram in the state today.

During one such operation, a team of commandos managed to arrest three militants identified as Oinam Sobhachandra Singh alias Ibungcha alias Guli, 35, s/o O Rudra Singh of Leimapokpam Awang Leikai, Oinam Manimu Singh, 29, s/o (l) O Nabachandra Singh of Leimapokpham Awang Leikai and Oinam Radhabinod Singh alias Radha, 28, s/o (l) O Yaima Singh of Leimapokpam Awang Leikai. The three were all arrested from their respective residences and the two IED bombs were found from the garden of Oinam Sobhachandra Singh, he further asserted.

He further identified the three as the culprits who had hurled two bombs at the house of minister N Loken Singh at Leimapokpam Awang leikai on October 18 and fitted another at the main gate of the minister’s residence recently. They were working under the command of one Ngangbam Sarat Singh alias Somo, 37, s/o Ng Tombi Singh of Sagoltongba Awang Leikai KCP (MTF), he added.
