Khengjoy villagers overjoyed with Chief Minister`s maiden visit

IMPHAL, Nov 13: Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh inaugurated Sub-divisional office, block development office of Khengjoy and block development office, Khangbarol, yesterday, in his maiden visit to the sub-division.

The inaugural function was attended by RD & PR minister, Md Allauddin Khan, Lok Sabha MP Thangso Baite and Chandel MLA, Thangkholun Haokip.

While delivering his chief guest speech chief minister, O Ibobi Singh, stated that with inauguration of the office buildings the people have to no longer take the burden to travel 46 km till Chakpikarong just to get an official document.

The Chief Minister also assured the gathering to upgrade the Khengjoy area primary health sub-centre to primary health centre (PHC) and the existing primary school to High School.

He asserted that the current government is considering development of remote areas of hills as priority to ensure equal development both in Hills and Valley. The Chief Minister called on the people to work together for a common cause keeping asides all the differences for the betterment of the future of the state.

Chandel MLA, Thangkholun Haokip, stated that the people of Khengjoy area were once suffered and deprived of their rights under the rule of militant organizations however thanks to the SPF government today the people are now living in peace.

He suggested the leaders in the area to observe November 12 as sub-division day marking the emancipation of misery of the people.

Lok Sabha MP Thangso Baite, lauded the current government as non-discriminatory and committed forward bringing equal development for both Hills and Valley.

Md. Alluadin Khan, minister RD & PR, informed that the 46 km stretch connecting Khengjoy to Chakpikarong sub-division which was only accessible by foot was made motorable by the present government. Altogether 60 crores rupees was released under the PMGSY, further informed the minister.

The RD & PR minister further assured to give all the necessary requirement of the sub-division.
