Many condemn abduction of minister`s assistant

IMPHAL, November 27: The Senapati District Students’ Association (SDSA) has appeal to all concerned for the immediate and safe release of KT Joseph, of Purul Rosofii village, private assistant of education minister DD Thaisii, who was abducted on November 22 from Imphal by some miscreants suspected to be armed militants.

The SDSA in a statement expressing their concern over the well being of KT Joseph and the hardship of the family and has further requested the responsible organization/individual to consider the matter on humanitarian ground. It said the victim has remained traceless for a week till date.

While condemning such act, the SDSA said kidnapping or forceful detention of any innocent person is not justifiable for achieving one’s end.

It further urged that the victim should be release unconditionally in the best interest of the students’ community in the district, and that such unfortunate situations should not happen again in the coming festive months.

In the meantime, the United Naga Council has also condemned the abduction of K. T. Joseph of Rosofii, Purul village by unidentified miscreants from Lamphel, Imphal while he was dropping his daughter to school.

The UNC said that the crime was committed in the heart of Imphal city and in broad daylight reflects the lawlessness that is ruling the society.

It strongly urged the concerned authorities to spare no effort to rescue Joseph and award befitting punishment to the perpetrators who have no place in society.

The UNC further asserted that it join the family and dear ones of Joseph and pray for his early return from the hands of the captors.
