Ministerial team on an inauguration spree at CCPur

IMPHAL, November 11: Works minister K. Ranjit today opined that the recent attack  on him in Sadar Hills area was purely a life attempt and branded the perpetrators as barbaric and uncivilized.

The minister stated this during the inaugural function of a guest house and foundation laying ceremony of Tuithapi Bridge at Churchandpur district head quarter which was also attended by health minister, L Jayentakumar Singh, power minister, Phungzathang Tonsing and PHED minister, TN Haokip.

K. Ranjit said that it is evident from the acts of the prepetrators that they have no respect for what he has undertaken in the state based on people’s interest. He asserted that he was returning from Senapati after inspecting various developmental projects taken up for the people there.

While referring to sluggish progress of various projects implemented in the state, he maintained that even as the present government is on an endeavour to bring maximum development with the blessing from the central government anti-social elements are hampering the progress. Another factor hampering the progress of development, according to the minister was the frequent bandh and blockades along the highways.

He further appealed to all the elements disturbing the works implementation to refrain from giving more hindrances asserting that it is the loss of only the people and the state and further added that they should rather work for the betterment of the society.

The minister further appealed the people not to fell prey to the divisive policy of the some vested interest groups.

PHED minister, TN Haokip who presided over the foundation laying stone ceremony at Tuithapi village, opined that the groups who are imposing bandhs, blockades are “Anti People” and “Inhumane”. Moreover, he asserted that such forms of agitation are also against the ruling of the Supreme Court.

He urged the groups to rather adopt democratic forms of agitations which will not affect the interest of the people.

The works minister K. Ranjit today inaugurated a guest house situated at the Churachandpur district head quarter in the presence of health minister L Jayentakumar and power minister Phungzathang Tonsing.

The guest house was built at the estimated cost of Rs One crore under the Special Plan Assistance (SPA). The constructed work began in late December 2007 and was completed in 2010 and inaugurated today against its targeted period of 12 months completion.

Later the ministerial team also inaugurated a 25 KW solar power plant at the Churachandpur district hospital, implemented by the Manipur Renewable Energy Development Agency.

The works minister along with the health minister also laid the foundation stone of Tuithapi Bridge to be constructed over the Khuga River in the presence of PHED minister, TN Hoakip who attended the foundation laying ceremony as functional president.

The estimated cost of the bridge is said to be Rs 345 lakhs which is targeted to be complete within two years, and will be 45 metres in length and 7.50 metres in width.
