NSA board approves detention of 11 UTs under NSA

IMPHAL, November 9: A recent sitting of the state advisory board on National Security Act, 1980, under its chairman Justice (retd) SP Rajkhowa at the office of Central Jail Sajiwa has approved the detention of 11 under trails belonging to different underground organizations under NSA.

According to an official source, the state advisory board on NSA convened three consecutive meetings recently and examined the reports and cases submitted against the 11 under trials identified as, Md Mirai Soukat alias Naocha alias Boy alias Mukib, 23, s/o Md Hayat Ali of Kshetri Mayai Leikai, Elam Mangi Meitei, 50, s/o E Jugindro Singh of Kabowakching Mayai Leikai, Amom Jibam Meitei alias Nanao alias Ibomcha alias Ibomcha alias Achamba, 42, s/o late A Mani of Moirang Khunou Chadapur Mayai Leikai, Salam Nabachandra Singh alias Naba alias Rupa alias Ibomcha alias Dinku alias Kenedy, 40, s/o late S Tomba Singh of Keibul Awang Leikai,  Tongbram Ningol Sandhya Devi alias Roshini alias Anju alias Luck, 25 d/o T Noren Singh of Khumbong Makha Leikai, M. Tominthang Haokip alias Tangboi Haokip, 29, s/o M Jamkhongam Haokip of Chakpikarong Chandel, Takhellambam Mocha Singh alias Khaba, 23, s/o late T Kumar Singh of Wangjing Awang Leikai,  Arambam Geetabali Devi, 27 d/o late A Ibotombi Singh of Sagolband Kangabam Leikai, Laishram Suchilchandra Singh alias Boy alias Chingtam alias Tangleikhomba, 33, s/o L Tombi Singh of  Keishampat Jailor Leirak,  Maisnam Ningol Lukram Ongbi Ranjita Devi, 38, w/o L Paka Singh of  Kanchikhul Mamang Leikai and  Okram Manglemba Meitei alias Nanao, 32 s/o O Ibopishak of Singjamei Okram Leikai, on the ground of their detention under NSA by the different district magistrate and state home department, the state advisory board on NSA have given their approval for the detention of said 11 UTPs under NSA for maximum of 12 months.

On the other hand the recent sitting of the board was attended by the two members of board identified as Dr. Yamini Kanta, Sr. advocate and Joginder Singh, Sr. advocate, the source added.
