PULF cadre held along with arms

IMPHAL, Nov 24: A combined team of Thoubal district police commandos and 42 AR arrested a PULF cadre while conducting search operation at Nungourok village yesterday evening around 4:35 pm and recovered one Sten Carbine with magazine, two live ammunitions of 9mm and one Blank Demand Draft letter of PULF.

The victim has been identified as one Md. Itomcha, 22, s/o Md. Majiruddin of Nongsa bazaar, Sora.

Meanwhile, a PRO release has stated that troops of 31 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector under HQ IGAR (S) launched operation in general area Khudengthabi on Nov 24. The troops intercepted an unclaimed bag containing banned drugs and wildlife product found lying in the bushes. 3.8 kgs of Opium, 40 kgs of Phentazone tablets, 49 bottles of Phensedyl and five pieces of Deer horns were recovered from the unclaimed bag and was handed over to the Narcotic Control Bureau and Wildlife department, Imphal, it added.

Meanwhile, a seperate release of the SP Thoubal has informed that the Thoubal district police conducted an extensive drive against illegal sell of petroleum products during the last 24 hours and managed to round up several black marketers along with their petroleum products.

The released informed that during the drive altogether 1,722 litres of diesel and 605 litres of petrol were recovered during the drive conducted in different areas of the district.

It further stated that separate cases have been registered in this connection at Sugnu, Waikhong, Kakching, Thoubal and Yairipok police station against the involved individual/black marketers.
