SDSA decries cabinet decision on Sadar hills

IMPHAL, November 7: The Senapati District Students’ Association in a press release while reaffirming its stance to defend and protect against any process of bifurcating it ancestral land, has also strongly condemned the cabinet decision of the state government to create three sub-divisions in Sadar Hills. Such premature decision of the government will only escalate the tension created by the present situation, it further added.

While citing the assurance of the state Chief Minister during the Union home minister on November 2 at Senapati district hq that no unilateral decision will be taken but consultation of concerned communities will be considered regarding the Sadar Hills issue and the contrasting cabinet decision to create three sub divisions, the SDSA has questioned the integrity and the credibility of the Chief Minister, it further added.

The press release signed by its president has further condemned the alleged assault of three bandh supporters at T Khullen by a 43 Assam Rifles officer Major Marathe, post commander at Kangpokpi AR out-post.

It has further stated that the concerned officer or the AR has not tender any apology and further added that the SDSA has decided to lodge complaint against the officer to the higher authority.

“If the concerned authority does not take any disciplinary action against the tainted Major immediately, “the SDSA will not continue to tolerate such inhuman and irrational behaviours of the defence personnal but react accordingly”, it has further informed.
