IMPHAL, Nov 3: Irom Sharmila is a courageous and true “Gandhian” who has been on fast for more than 10 years struggling for the repeal of AFSPA, former vice-chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University, Dr M Rahman told media persons after visiting her at the security ward of JNIMS today.
He further stated that he had conversation with Sharmila for about 45 minutes on issues pertaining to AFSPA and human rights violation in the state.
During the conversation, Sharmila told him she wanted the Prime Minister to visit her on humanitarian ground. He also assured her of rendering all possible support to her movement, stated Rahman.
