IMPHAL, Nov 28: Representatives of Sadar Hills Districthood Demand Committee (SHDDC) met the Chief Minister Okram Ibobi today at around 1 pm at Chief Minister’s Secretariat, Imphal.

After the meeting, SHDDC president Ngamkhohao Haokip told media persons that the committee will take a decision after the Prime Minister’s visit scheduled on December 3.

The committee may again impose blockade if nothing significant is brought after the Prime Minister’s visit.

Newmai News Network adds: Ngamkhohao in an astonishing statement said that the counter economic blockade imposed by United Naga United Naga Council (UNC) and All Naga Students’ Association (ANSAM) should not call off the economic blockade as the agitation “yields a good support” to the demand of SHDDC.

Asked how come he made such appeal to UNC and ANSAM, he said the counter blockade of the Naga organizations has kept reminding to the minds of the people about their demand for formation of Sadar Hills district.

The SHDDC delegate led by its president comprised of the committee general secretary Tonghen Kipgen and vice president Thangkam Lupheng, and on the State Government side it was represented by a State Cabinet minister and an MLA at the meeting. The names of the Government representatives were not officially available.

The SHDDC had lifted its agitations since November 1 after signing a MoU with the state government on October 31.
