IMPHAL, November 26: The state Chief Minister today chaired a high level state meeting at his official bungalow and considered the various needs of the different state departments which could be placed before the visiting Prime Minister for assistance under a new PM package, a reliable source informed.
According to the source, the meeting was also attended by the state chief secretary and including various other state department heads including of home, PWD, MAHUD, power, PHED among others.
The meeting deliberated on the requirements of the state departments that could be reflected to the Prime Minister during his proposed December 3 visit and laid especial emphasis on what new projects could be placed before the Prime Minister, the source informed.
The meeting also deliberated on the completion of the ongoing projects undertaken in the state under the Prime Minister’s package. The Chief Minister also instructed the department heads to submit a compiled report on the grievances faced by the departments concerned while implementing the projects, the source informed.
The Chief Minister also informed the officials to submit a detailed report on any schemes/projects that the departments had chalk out for future implementation, the source added.
The source further informed that the Chief Minister is likely to conduct another high level state meeting tomorrow at his official bungalow.
Meanwhile, soon after the official meeting at his bungalow today, the Chief Minister further attended another meeting of the Congress Legislative party at his bungalow attended by all Congress MLAs and representatives of the state Youth Congress, informed the source.
The meeting further deliberated on the need of a new PM package for the state and what should be incorporated in the new package; however the meeting failed to finalised on the issue and resolve that the meeting will continue tomorrow, the source added.
In the meantime, an official team of the National Security Guard team comprising of 12 officials and led by DIG Raghuveer Singh has arrived in the state capital this afternoon to assess and monitor the security preventive measures taken up by the state government in view of the proposed high profile visit of the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi to the state, a reliable source informed.
The team will start its monitoring of the places likely to be visited by the Prime Minister and the UPA chairperson from tomorrow, added the source.
The Prime Minister and the UPA chairman will be inaugurating the City Convention Centre at Palace gate and the Capitol Project and it three components Assembly secretariat, High Court complex and Secretariat at Chingmeirong.
