State govt will sponsor RMSA teachers even if centre withdraws sponsorship, asserts CM

IMPHAL, November 9: The state government will continue to sponsor the teachers recruited under Rashtriya Madhyamik Shikshya Abhiyan (RMSA) even if the Central government withdraws the sponsorship, stated Chief Minister Okram Ibobi during the inauguration of training programme for graduate teachers of RMSA held at Indoor Stadium, Khuman Lampak, Imphal.

He further maintained that the state government is striving to streamline the education department and make the functioning more transparent. The state government is also committed to recruit primary teachers for Sarva Shikshya Abhiyan (SSA) from amongst the TET passed candidates by maintaining utmost transparency in selection, Ibobi noted.

Chief Minister further appealed to the teachers to dedicate themselves to teach and guide the children to become responsible citizens of the country.

The inaugural function was also attended by principal secretary of education (S), Dr J Suresh Babu, state project director of RMSA, Suman Singh, director of education (S) and director of SCERT.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister Okram Ibobi also attended the reception programme of newly elected ADC members as the chief guest today at ADC Bhavan, Chingmeirong.

Speaking at the function, Chief Minister Ibobi stated that the government is striving to ensure rights to every citizen and develop the hill areas through proper devolution of power to autonomous district councils.

The state government will also conduct land survey at hills to formulate land patta for the hill people, Ibobi noted.

Eight out of 10 newly elected members were from Senapati and the other two members from Ukhrul.

The reception programme was also attended by IFCD minister N Biren, education minister DD Thaisii, MP Thangso Baite and other ADC members of Ukhrul and Senapti.
