State to have first oxygen plant in Bishnupur

IMPHAL, Nov 19: The project appraisal for the first oxygen plant in Manipur has been sanctioned by the United Bank of India, Imphal Branch on November 17.

The factory of Manipur Oxygen Plant Pvt. Ltd. is located at Joypur Khunou in Bishnupur district and its office is at MG Avenue opposite UBI, Imphal. It will produce 99.97 percent pure oxygen both for clinical and industrial use.

The plant has the capacity to fulfill the requirement of the state for the next 20 years without further expansion. The commercial production is expected by the end of February, 2011.

The director of Manipur Oxygen Plant Pvt. Ltd. has extended his gratitude to revenue minister Th Devendra, power chief engineer N Sarat and chief regional manager of UBI, R Bhattacharaya for their support in setting up the oxygen plant.
