UADC teachers decry non-release of SSA fund

IMPHAL, Nov 13: The Ukhrul Autonomous District Council Teachers’ Association (UADCTA) has strongly decried the failure of the State Mission Authority, SSA for the non-release of grant funds meant for various department of the school under the Autonomous District Council for the year 2010-2011.

A statement issued by the Wungramyao Zimik an AS AIMSON, president and secretary of UADCTA, informed there are altogether 154 schools under the ADC. The non-release of funds includes for school maintenance amounting to 15,50,000 rupees, school grant amounting to 7,75,000 and teachers grant amounting to 2,95,000.

It claimed that the UADCTA has field several representation to the authority concerned for immediate release of the funds however it had failed to do so.

The indifferent attitude of the State Mission Authority, affects not only the reputation of the district but pose as a hindrance to the career of poor students besides amounts to violations of Right of the children to free and compulsory education.

It further informed that in solidarity and also demanding to expedite the legitimate rights of the poor children to fulfill the demands, the UADCTA will observe two minute silent prayer on November 14 Children’s Day.

Moreover it urged all the schools of Ukhrul, ADC to observe two minutes silent in every school assembly till the demands of the school is fulfilled.
