IMPHAL, Nov 19: The SoO signatory United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF) has strongly reacted to the extortion charges leveled against them by one sub-contractor.
The party is currently in SoO with the centre and state government.
Addressing media persons today at Pallel Molnoi in Chandel district, UKLF home secretary, Anthony Thadou clarified that the organization was not involved in such anti-social activity.
He further stated that the United Tribal Liberation Front (UTLF) has claimed responsibility for Sajik Tampak shooting incident in which two persons were injured and also the organization had issued a press clarification note in this regard. But still sub-contractor MA Zabar puts the blame on the UKLF, he asserted.
The United Kuki Liberation Front strictly adheres to the ground rules of Suspension of Operation and has never gone beyond the rules. The organization is not only for the Kukis but also for other communities. UKLF is working constantly to bring peace and development in the state, Anthony averred.
He strongly condemned the act of inciting hatred amongst various communities of the state by some persons with vested interests.
The home secretary further appealed to the authorities concerned to investigate into Sajik Tampak shooting incident and prevent such unwanted incident in the future.
