IMPHAL, Nov 13: The proscribed UNLF has strongly reacted to the news report of Times Now news channel which stated that the UNLF is targeting Manipur Chief Minister Okram Ibobi.
A statement of the outfit issued by senior publicity officer, Ksh Yoiheiba stated that the news report of Time Now is unfounded and acts as a ploy of colonial media to tarnish the image of revolutionary movement in the region.
The UNLF does not intend to target the Chief Minister or anybody else personally. The goal of the party is to thwart the Indian colonial forces and ensure freedom to the people.
It further mentioned that Chief Minister Okram Ibobi and his council of ministers under the puppet government could not raise any voice against their colonial masters.
Manipur, being a colonial state of India, has been facing myriad problems for the last many decades. The Indian government could have been more proactive if the problems of Manipur were to happen in Bengal, Bihar, UP, Maharashtra and other states. The people of Manipur have been ill-treated and discriminated racially by the Indian colonial rulers, the statement mentioned.
