IMPHAL, Nov 25: Women vendors of Khwairamband Bazar today staged a sit-in-protest demonstration against economic blockade and subsequent abnormal price hike of essential commodities in the state.
Speaking to media persons at the sideline of the protest, L Memma stated that the people are suffering immensely due to the economic blockade imposed on the national highways for more than 100 days.
She demanded the state government to take up concrete measures for solving the volatile issues in the state.
Memma further commented that the proposed “Supra State Body” will incite violence and bloodshed in the northeastern region.
Meanwhile, Khwairamband Ima Keithel Marigi Apunba Ima Lupsing under the aegis of Protection and Preservation Committee, Manipur submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister today urging him to take concrete measures to redress the suffering the people in the aftermath of economic blockade imposed on the national highways for more than 100 days.
