IMPHAL, December 17: A 10-year-old girl died after she was allegedly raped and pushed down from the terrace of a two-storied-building owned by Dr Rajak at Hatta Telepati under Porompat Police Station at around 5:40 pm today.
The victim has been identified as Abibi (name changed) of Hatta Telepati.
The irate locals of Hatta stormed at the building at around 7 pm demanding the prime suspects, namely Md Rafi and Md Islamuddin to be brought before the public. However, a team of Porompat Police rushed to the spot and controlled the mob timely.
Several tear gas shells were fired to disperse the mob.
According to an eye-witness, Abibi fell down from the building half-naked. She died at the spot instantly.
He stated that Rafi and Abibi were seen together near the building in the afternoon. They later entered the building together, he added.
The police later apprehended the suspects Rafi and Islamuddin along with Rafi’s wife.
A blood-stained pant was also recovered from the terrace of the building.
