UKHRUL, December 24: An advance Christmas celebration was organized under the DIG 10 Sector, B’ Range Brig Narender Kumar, SM today with a simple function at 12 noon at the Ukhrul Somsai helipad.
The function reverberated with free and easy interaction between the civilian guests and host with everyone greeting each other with the best wishes of merry Christmas and shaking hands.
The pleasantly decorated Somsai helipad ground was filled with melodious Christmas songs and Hindi film oldies presented by the Phungyo Baptist Church Choir and the band music group of the Assam Rifles respectively. Meanwhile during an interaction lasting for about half an hour, the host served cold drinks, juices and snacks to all the participants making the event all the more glorious.
The function was attended by Tangkhul social organization leaders including those of Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (TKS), Tangkhul Mayar Ngala Long (TMNL), Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL), public leaders Shangreiso A. Shimray, former TNL president and Dr. YL Mingthing, director, TTA Phungyo Baptist Church Choir and media persons from the side of the public while the Assam Rifles team was led by DIG, Brig. Narender Kumar and included his subordinates ranks and files including Dy.Commandant OM Prakash, Col. RP. Dondiyal, A/C Deo Kumar, Major Vivak Commader Ukhrul Post, Maj.Ankit Rathor, Maj. SV. Kumar,Maj. Suhas and others joined the occasion from the Assam Riffles.
