IMPHAL, Dec 24: Imphal West defeated Kakching DSA by 2-1 goals in the opening match of the 23rd junior boys inter district football tournament being held at Main Stadium, Khuman Lampak.
Two early goal put Imphal West ahead in the first half of play.
N Ibochouba netted in two quick goals in the 2nd and 4th minutes to put Imphal West ahead.
DSA Kakching managed to reduced the goal margin in the 33rd minute with Robinson scoring the lone goal.
In the second match played later at the same venue, Imphal East routed DSA Bishnupur by 6-0 goals.
Md Rohit Hussain scored two goals for Imphal East while Md Amirkhan, Md Tajuddin, Boicha and Imran Khan scored one goal each for the team.
