IMPHAL December 12: The allegation made by one contractor identified as Longjam Sunil of Akampat that the Maoist Communist Party, Manipur has demanded a two per cent cut from the funds allocated for the state nursing home under the National Rural Health Mission is baseless, said a press release by Nonglen Meitei, secretary of publicity and propaganda of the Maoist Communist Party.
It has further stated that it is an attempt to tarnish the image of the outfit and further stated that it is unfortunate. There have been no demands made to any department of the state by the outfit.
The statement has further stated that it is an attempt to tarnish the outfits image by the contractor who in cahoot with the state police commandos are trying to embezzle money from the NRHM funds. The outfit is trying to identify the police commandos and the other concerned officials behind the scam and the information will be made public shortly. The public can contact and appeal to the outfit in case of any demands made by the Maoist through the website www. maoistpartymanipur.webs. com. The attempt made by scrupulous contractors to show the outfit in the wrong light and to bring a divide between the public and the outfit is taken seriously, it said. It further announced Longjam Sunil as a reactionary and that the outfit has never targeted any innocents except for the reactionaries.
The outfit further imposed restrictions on screening of films in other areas besides the cinema halls and BOAT while adding that the election timing brings unwanted political campaign violence in its wake. The outfit while stating that precautions will be taken to avoid unwanted political violence has also added that no favouritism will be tendered to any particular candidate or political party as the outfit has no belief in the Indian Parliamentary election system. It has further appealed the public to support the cause of the Maoist Communist Party, Manipur.
