MSSA lifts cease-work strike following agreement with state government

IMPHAL, December 21: The Manipur Secretariat Service Association has lifted its cease-work strike following an agreement with the state government from today.

The association had been on a cease work strike since December 13.

According to the spokesperson of the association, representatives of the association met with government representatives led by GAD minister Th Debendro and arrived at an understanding today.

The minister further assured the payment of due Dearness Allowance, SCA and TA and the payment of SDA at the rate of 10 percent of corresponding basics grade pay of the incumbent concern.

During the said meeting the minister had also informed that the other demands of the association are already under process which includes increasing the number of MSS Officers, the spokesperson further informed.

The minister had also informed that the associations demand for filling up of all posts earmarked for MSS cadre and declaration of gazetted post in respect of Asst Section Officer in the secretariat service are also under process, he further informed.

Following the meeting with the state government representatives, the MSSA has decided to lift their cease-work strike from today, however, the cease-work strike of the JAC of AMTUC and AMGEO will continue further, he added.

The government has yet failed to implement the demands of the JAC of AMTUC and AMGEO and as such the cease-work strike which has been going on since November 24 will continue, he added.

Meanwhile, spokesperson of the JAC AMTUC and AMGEO informed IFP that the government is practicing divide and rule of state government employees by only considering the demands of the MSSA while leaving out the long pending demands of the JAC.

The spokesperson further urged the government to also consider the demands of the JAC.
