Naga bodies resolve to strengthen `alternative arrangement` demand

IMPHAL, December 15: The United Naga Council along with other frontal organizations and others convened a joint meeting at Tahamzam, Senapati district on December 15 to strengthen its movement for alternative arrangement, to discuss the Indo-Naga issue.

According to a press statement of the UNC, after a deliberation on the said issues, the meeting adopted various resolutions.

It has further stated that the meeting endorses the Naga peace process and further urged the negotiators for early settlement of the Indo-Naga issue.

It has further resolve to object bifurcation of Naga areas for the upgradation of Sadar Hills, Jiribam, Tonjei Marin, Phungyar, Tengoupal and Kakching district.

The statement has further stated that the meeting further resolved to endorse the initiative of the Forum for Naga Reconciliation for bringing peace and reconciliation among the Nagas and the demand for ‘Alternative Arrangement’.

Further during the meet it was resolved to endorse the aspiration of the Nagas to live together under a single administrative roof, the statement has stated.

The meet further resolved that any political parties or individuals who opposes the resolution of the meet will be deemed as anti-Naga and that they will not get any support from the Naga, the release added.
